DESCRIPTION:**The original working donkeys in the local mines were released from their rugged jobs in the early 1900’s.  That’s when they were freed to roam among the Gold Camp and original Members of the Two Mile High Club formed to care for them.  Today\, that occasion is celebrated in their honor every Memorial Day when the herd is released from the winter pasture to roam the streets of Cripple Creek. **
